Height (Inc. Pot)

This variety of banana plant is named after William Cavendish, the 6th Duke of Devonshire. The Cavendish cultivar is now found growing naturally in the Canary Islands. The stunning foliage on this plant makes a real statement. Blotches on the leaves will disappear as the plant matures. This fast-growing plant has fragile leaves but will reward you with lots of new leaves during its growing phase.

How to Keep me Happy

Light conditions: position in a warm spot with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose their markings.
Neediness: will need regular care for the plant to look its best. Misting is very important and required regularly to stop leaves from tearing. Leaves are fragile so it is rare to find them without any imperfections.
Watering: wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering. Do not over-water, soil should be moist and not soggy. Reduce the amount given during the winter months but do not let it dry out completely.
Ideal location: bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, studies and corridors
Rate of growth: fast growing, can grow new leaves rapidly during warm weather. Can reach 2m tall with the right care.
Temperature: avoid cold drafts and keep at a normal room temperature, do not let the temperature drop below 10°C.
Pets: this plant is non-toxic to cats and dogs.
Sizing:
