Dischidia Ovata
Dischidia Ovata
This more unusual and rare trailing plant is named after the distinctive markings on it's leaves. The Watermelon Dischida is native to New Guinea and North Queensland, and is a lesser known relative to the popular Hoya plants. In their rainforest environment, they're used to thriving in dappled sunlight, which is why it's important to keep them in indirect sunlight.
A low-maintenance plant, it's trailing vines are speedy growers - so you may even find you need to give it the occasional trim to keep it under control. Happiest high up, with lots of air circulation and room to grow, the Watermelon Dischidia is also pretty hardy - so don't worry if you've left it a little while between watering.
