Otherwise known as a Stromanthe Sanguinea Triostar.
CONDITIONS: Native to the jungles of the Amazon region in South America and cultivated as an ornamental plant.
LIGHT: Position in bright, indirect light as direct light can fade this plant’s beautiful colouring. Protect it from cold draughts.
WATER: It loves a humid environment and will thrive in a kitchen or bathroom. Mist weekly and if planted in a pot without drainage holes, mist more frequently.
CARE: Remove dust with a damp cloth to unblock leaves’ pores. This will help the plant breathe.
PETS: Stromanthe ‘Tricolour' love pets. This plant has been classified as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
FACT: There are around 25 varieties of Calathea and go by names such as zebra plant, rattlesnake, peacock plant or sleeping beauty. How many Calathea do you have?
