An easy to care for plant with fresh green leaves that fan out. The Kentia Palm can tolerate low light. It is one of the best plants for improving air quality, removing toxins such as formaldehyde, ammonia and carbon monoxide from the air, this makes it an ideal home and office plant. It is native to Lord Howe Island in Australia.
Light conditions position in a spot with low, indirect light
Neediness: easy to care for and can cope with a little unintentional neglect, remove dust with a damp cloth to unblock pores. This will help the plant breathe.
Watering: only water when soil is dry to the touch. Mist weekly or if planted in a pot with no drainage holes, mist more frequently.
Ideal location: bedrooms, living rooms, corridors and studies
Rate of growth: slow, can reach up to 3m tall but is unlikely to outgrow its space.
Temperature: keep at normal room temperature, do not let temperature drop below 5°C.
Pets: this plant is non-toxic to cats and dogs.
