Succulents are plants that store water in their fleshy, thickened leaves and/or stems. The name succulent comes from the Latin ‘sucus’ which means juice or sap. These plants are adapted to survive on limited water resources such as dew or mist making them tolerant to drought. There are numerous different cultivars of succulents and they are great for new plant parents.
Light conditions: to keep this plant happy position in bright, indirect light. Place near a window that gets light all day and it will thrive. Succulents can become spindly if they must stretch towards sunlight.
Neediness: Low maintenance and easy to care for. It is normal for the leaves closest to the soil to eventually shrivel and drop.
Watering: do not overwater! It is best to saturate the soil and ensure that the soil dries out completely before watering again. If the soil is wet day after day this could lead to the plant dying.
