Otherwise known as a Calathea Roseopicta Medallion, this plant is happiest with indirect light and weekly watering during warmer months and less so during winter, although always check the soil is completely dry before watering again. Your calathea enjoys a humid environment so kitchens and bathrooms are ideal along with regular misting. Top tip, place this plant high up and you can enjoy both parts of the leaf, take a look underneath to see this stunning red leaf. It’s leaves can get dusty so clean with either a damp cloth or give it a shower with lukewarm water. This plant can be toxic to humans and pets if ingested.
All our plants come with a beautiful keepsake postcard with care instructions so you'll never kill your houseplant again!
Looking for a pot to fit your Calathea? Head for a pot with a width of 15cm or above. Our favourites include the stylish black & gold planter, the rose tinted basket and the black planter with stand.
FACT: You might get a shock if you see you this plant moving at night! The plant owes this ability to a small ‘joint’ between the leaf and stem. Light moves the joints and as a result, Calathea leaves open and close.
