Native to Eastern Asia and Australia, this plant has fleshy curled leaves crowded together which are dark green in colour with a glossy/waxy finish. This plant looks great on shelves or in hanging pots with its trailing vines. With the right care this plant produces beautiful clusters of star shaped flowers. It is also a great plant for clean air as it helps to remove pollutants in the air.
Light conditions: this flowering plant can grow in low, medium and bright light conditions, but needs bright, morning sun in order to power its spurs. These spurs produce this plant’s beautiful blooms.
Neediness: relatively easy to care for, can be pruned if you wish to control the length of the trailing stems.
Watering: wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering gently. Do not allow the soil to get soggy. Reduce water during the winter months. Avoid overwatering. Occasional misting during very warm weather.
Ideal location: bedrooms, corridors, living rooms and studies
Rate of growth: if in a hanging basket the trailing stems can reach lengths of 6ft.
Temperature: will be happy kept at a normal room temperature.
Pets: this plant is toxic to cats and dogs. See our range of pet friendly plants if your pet is prone to nibbling.
