An unusual houseplant which has a unique appearance compared to other ferns. Elongated fronds that have a pretty green-blue colour. The blue star fern is an epiphyte meaning it can grow on other trees rather than in the soil. They are naturally found in the tropical rainforests of South America.
Light conditions: Find a spot with indirect light and this plant will thrive.
Neediness: does require some care, this plant enjoys a humid environment.
Watering: Water weekly during the warmer months or when the soil appears dry and less so throughout winter. Blue star ferns don’t appreciate water being poured directly into the heart of the plant, so watering from the sides is preferred. Keep soil moist but not soggy. Mist regularly to heighten the humidity.
Ideal location: bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms and studies.
Rate of growth: average, in optimal conditions leaves can be up to 1m in length.
Temperature: keep at normal room temperature.
Pets: this plant is not toxic to cats and dogs.
Sizing: W12cm x H35cm
Also known as: Phlebodium Aureum
