This plant has beautiful bright green round pad like leaves on succulent stems. Frequently seen in Scandinavian interiors, cuttings were first bought back to Europe by a Norwegian missionary. Native to the southwestern Yunnan province of China.Light conditions: position in a warm, bright position with indirect light. The plant responds quickly to sunlight, so it is worth rotating regularly to ensure even growth. Too low light will result in pale leaves.
Neediness: an easy to care for, low maintenance houseplant. Needs dusting regularly to ensure the plant can photosynthesise efficiently. Worth noting that the stems are delicate and can snap off when the plant is handled or moved, this is one of the easiest plants to propagate so stems can be placed in compost to grow a new baby Pilea!
Watering: wait until the top layer of soil is dry to the touch before watering. Water less frequently during the cooler winter months. Mist regularly to keep it happy. Avoid over-watering as this can cause root rot.
Ideal location: bedrooms, living rooms and studies
Rate of growth: moderate, can eventually reach a height and spread of 30cm
Temperature: can be kept at normal room temperature. Do not let the temperature drop below 10c.
Pets: this plant is non-toxic to cats and dogs.
Sizing: Small W13cm x H25cm
